East Midlands Chamber said it stands ready to work with new Prime Minister Andy Burnham -underlining the ‘tremendous growth opportunities’ that can be seized from collaboration with the region’s business community.

Director of Policy and Insight Rick Blackmore said: With the East Midlands a Centre of Trading Excellence - a powerhouse of skill, of making and creating - it is right to highlight the tremendous growth opportunities the new Prime Minister, his government and policymakers at all levels can embrace.

“Known the world over for innovating in sectors ranging from advanced manufacturing to research, education, training and digital development - as well as being home to major investment zones - the East Midlands boasts an abundance of growth potential.

“The region’s business community will, I’m sure, be keen to join me in welcoming the new Prime Minister into post, to hear of emerging policies and the detail within, and will be ready to work together to drive growth.”
